Cortex is a personal-operations service that delivers timely SMS alerts to account holders about events on their registered home-automation accounts — door states, system status, environmental conditions, and account-related summaries.
What you'll receive
Cortex sends short, transactional SMS notifications only to numbers that have completed the opt-in form on this website. Examples of message types include:
- Account event notifications (e.g. door unlocked, garage open beyond threshold)
- System status updates (e.g. battery low, sensor offline)
- Account summaries on request
How Cortex works
An account holder creates a Cortex account on the registration page. SMS notifications are a fully optional add-on offered on that page — account registration completes whether or not the user enables SMS. Users who choose to enable SMS provide explicit consent via an unchecked-by-default checkbox accompanied by full disclosure. Consent to SMS is never required for account registration or any other Cortex service. Subscribers may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message or by submitting the opt-out form.
Message frequency & rates
Message frequency varies based on the events occurring on your account. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or STOP to opt out.
Account holders
Cortex notifications are limited to individuals who are authorized account holders on a registered home-automation account and who have completed the opt-in process. Cortex does not solicit or send marketing or promotional messages.
